At MyHairMail, we know a wig can be much more than a change in hairstyle. For customers experiencing hair loss related to illness or treatment, the right piece can be an important part of feeling comfortable, confident and like yourself.

That's why we're excited to share a new payment option: MyHairMail now accepts Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards at checkout.

What does this mean for you?

If you're shopping for a wig due to a qualifying medical need, you may be able to use your HSA or FSA funds to pay for the purchase. Rather than requiring a separate payment portal, our online checkout allows you to enter an eligible HSA/FSA card through the regular credit/debit card payment option.

Your card issuer determines whether the transaction will be approved. Your plan administrator determines the documentation and requirements that apply to your account.

Are wigs eligible for HSA/FSA spending?

Some medically necessary wigs may qualify. The IRS includes certain physician-advised wig purchases in its discussion of medical expenses, and particular HSA/FSA plans may recognize medically necessary wigs related to disease or medical treatment. Eligibility depends on individual circumstances and program rules.

There is an important distinction: MyHairMail's ability to accept HSA/FSA cards does not mean every wig purchase qualifies as a medical expense. A fashion purchase, for example, does not automatically become eligible because the payment card works.

We recommend asking your plan administrator about your specific purchase before using benefit funds, particularly if it requires a prescription, provider recommendation or Letter of Medical Necessity.

How to use your HSA/FSA card at MyHairMail

It's simple:

  1. Browse MyHairMail and choose the wig, color and size that work for you.
  2. Review availability and any product-specific return or final-sale terms.
  3. Proceed to checkout and enter your HSA or FSA card under the standard card-payment option.
  4. Complete the transaction if your card issuer approves it.
  5. Save your itemized receipt and any supporting medical documentation your plan may require.

If your card is declined, contact the issuer or your plan administrator. You can also ask whether your plan permits you to use another payment method and then request reimbursement for an eligible purchase.
